Book Review & Giveaway: I Love You More

Sourcebooks, Inc. graciously asked me to review a copy of Laura Duksta’s book, I Love You More. Written in 2001, I Love You More is a children’s book that focuses on the love a parent and a child have for each other.

In the PR packet included with my copy of the book, the publishers write:
“The book is just a simple conversation between a parent and a child about LOVE, spoken in terms that both can fully understand.”

I completely agree. The words that are used are simple and concrete, yet they convey strong emotion in terms that even my two year old daughter can understand. The vivid colors and soft lines of the illustrations draw young readers into the story and the rhyming text keeps them interested. Taller, Longer, Stronger, and Bigger are all words that the author uses to show the love between a parent and child.

While you may be thinking that it sounds very much like every other book about love that is already on the market, there is one thing that sets this book apart from the rest. I Love You More is a “flip-sided” book that is told from the perspective of a Mother and a Son. You start the book from one side and the story is about how much a Mama loves her little boy. When you are done, just flip the book over and start it again! This time, the little boy tells his Mama how much he loves her! While I think that this is a novel idea indeed, my daughter thinks that this is just the best thing in the world! She loves to flip the book over at the end of the first story. And again…and again! She also likes to “read” it with me. By now, she knows many of the words by heart! We really enjoy this book, and I enjoy hearing my sweet little girl proclaim, “I love YOU more!”

Sourcebooks, Inc., the publishers of I Love You More has offered up a copy of this sweet story to give away to one of you! Just leave me a comment on this post and you will be entered! I’ll leave comments on this post open until Friday, Dec. 7th at 5pm when I will draw a winner at random. Sorry, this giveaway is open to US residents only.

Edited to add: Winners will be reached via email, so make sure you leave your correct email address. One entry per person, please. Feel free to tell your friends about the giveaway!

Just for kicks, let me know how you found my site! It won’t change your chances to win…just trying to see who came from where!

Sorry Folks, Comments for this Post are Closed!
