WFMW: No time for Christmas Cards?
This week, our usual hostess is out trotting the globe, in Uganda, of all places! Melanie (aka Chilihead) has graciously and generiously offered to host us gaggle of geese this geek. I mean, week.
I have NEVER been able to pick-out, address, and mail Christmas cards in an efficient manner. I just can’t seem to get them out BEFORE the actual holiday! So I stopped trying. My family does not send out Christmas cards at all.
We send out Valentine’s Cards instead!
For the last few years, I have been successfully able to create photo cards to mail to our friends and family for Valentine’s day. I don’t have to worry about getting caught up in the Christmas rush, but the people that I care about still get to have a card from my little family.
That’s what’s working for me. What’s working for you? Head on over to Don’t Try This at Home to find more tips and tricks!

I don’t send out Christmas cards either. But I also don’t send out valentine cards. Maybe I should start? Great idea!

What a great idea!
This year, I printed up valentines for my kids to hand out, instead of store buying them. I spent a little more, but it was nice to put on a picture of the kids and for them not to have to sign their own cards. LOL
I think I’ll keep doing Christmas cards, but this really is a fab idea!

Good title. Made me pop right over to see why you were talking Christmas in Feb.
Nifty idea.

You do what the Europeans do. Christmas/New Years’ greetings are sent all through January/February. Valentine’s Day is about the limit.
I think you have a great idea and most people probably aren’t expecting it so they will appreciate it more.
I used to do something similar. Christmas is just too busy so I sent Thanksgiving cards to all the people I wanted to say “Thank you” to and to our special friends. Christmas cards end up being mostly just for relatives. Then if I forgot anyone they would get a Happy New Year card. This way it was all spread out over three months.

I like this idea. My cousin did them for Easter and it was a pleasant surprise!

This is a cute idea. I read a tip somewhere about someone who sent out New Year’s cards instead of Christmas ones. This sounds like a fun idea too. I’ll have to remember it.
What a neat idea. How fun to get a letter from a friend out of the blue like that. I am sure your family and friends really enjoy it.

GREAT IDEA!! I seriously considered sending out 4th of July cards, but then didn’t get to them last summer either, this year I claimed saving paper as my reason & sent an e-mail x-mas letter/pictures to everyone I had an e-mail address for & that brought my mailed cards list down to few enough I could get them done, so they were at least in the mail by x-mas, if not in their hands yet LOL.

good idea! I send valentine ones to special family members (but I also do Christmas cards).
The kids have so much fun making valentines. I posted on my blog a bunch we did.

I do send out Christmas cards, but it’s getting later and later each year. This year maybe they arrived by Christmas Eve! But…I do send out Valentine’s cards, too. By February I’m itching to write some Valentine letters and comment on some of the things folks wrote in their Christmas letters. But then I don’t get the urge again until fall.
