The Author

This started out as one of those “100 Things” projects but I have had to change it a bit. I am learning new things about myself every day so I plan to keep this list updated and current!!

Facts About My Life:

  1. I married my high school sweetheart (Dr. D).
  2. We had a beautiful baby girl (Piglet) in 2005.
  3. Both Dr. D and I were born and raised in southeast Arkansas.
  4. But we have recently moved to Michigan.
  5. All of our family is still back in Arkansas.
  6. Dr. D and I went to college together.
  7. We got married a week after I graduated in December of 2001.
  8. I don’t feel that my nuclear family is complete yet. One more child may do the trick.
  9. I have two nephews that are perhaps the cutest little boys EVER. Hands down.
  10. I have a B.A. in History.
  11. I loved going to my History Classes.
  12. I have never used my B.A. in History.
  13. I have taken some Masters in Public Health Classes.
  14. I really enjoyed them and perhaps I will take more…when I grow up!
  15. My daughter is already smarter than I am.
  16. I have worked at 3 different Doctors’ Offices, 1 Restaurant, 1 Retail Shop and 1 Veterinary Office. I also worked for my parents for many years during summers and school breaks.
  17. One of those Doctor’s offices was a Planned Parenthood. I am proud of that one.
  18. I love Chocolate.
  19. I also love Garlic.
  20. And Onions.
  21. The only way that I will willingly eat raw tomatoes is with Fresh Mozzarella, Basil, and Balsamic Vinegar.
  22. I HATE Bananas. I despise the fact that I have to buy them for my daughter and hubby.
  23. Coffee is my friend. I love the Pumpkin Spice Lattes at Starbucks.
  24. There is no better soft drink than an ice cold Coke out of a glass bottle.
  25. McDonald’s Fountain Coke is a close second.
  26. I have never read Moby Dick.
  27. I never plan to read Moby Dick.
  28. Thomas Hardy almost made my head explode.
  29. Jennifer Weiner is more my speed.
  30. I am not a writer. I make no claim to have the ability to write. Forgive me now for the gross grammatical errors that I may make.
  31. I am a chronic list maker. I LOVE itemized lists.
  32. I do most of my writing on my Black MacBook. Her name is Eve, and I love her fiercely.
  33. We are a Mac Family. Even our router and phones are Apples. We are putting Steve Jobs‘ kids through college.
  34. I would love to go to the Louvre, but I have no desire to “See Paris.”
  35. We honeymooned in St. Lucia and I would love to go back there someday.

Things I Want to do Before I Turn 30:

  1. Visit Mackinac Island.
  2. Take the train to Toronto.
  3. Visit Niagara Falls.
  4. Visit Shedd Aquarium with my daughter.
  5. Learn a few Yoga Poses.
  6. Take a Gourmet Cooking Class.
  7. Take a Pottery Class.
  8. Take a Wine Tasting Class.
  9. Crochet an entire blanket.
  10. Read Elizabeth Edwards’ book.
  11. Learn what the Michigan Fight Song Sounds Like.
  12. Perhaps learn to sing the Michigan Fight Song.

Things I Want to do Before I Turn 40:

  1. Swim with the Dolphins.
  2. Force my husband to take my family to Orlando.
  3. Venture to Europe. I’m really not terribly picky which part, but Scotland would be a nice starting point. So would The Netherlands.
  4. Take a Second Honeymoon. (Yes, with Dr. D.)
  5. Have another child.
