Here’s to Small Victories

We have had a very good day today. The sun was out and the sky was blue. The temperature was even above freezing again!

And to make the day even sweeter, Ladybug was able to make it to the potty all day long, including a little a little bout with an upset tummy. I am so proud of her!

So what do you do to celebrate? Chuck E Cheese, of course!

Yes, we even sprung for the princess cup.

Daddy didn’t let her win, but she didn’t even notice!

Chuck-E-Derby. This one’s for you, Allison!

WFMW: Backwards Edition Again!

WFMW Banner

This week Shannon, over at Rocks in My Dryer is hosting another backwards edition of WFMW. (You know, the kind where I get to ask YOU a question!)

So, here’s my problem:

We have only one bathroom in our tiny tiny duplex. We all three have to share it and I’m having a heck of a time keeping it clean. What are your ideas to help me keep the clutter and germs to a minimum? There is hardly any ventilation in there, so I can’t use bleach on a regular basis. Other than that, send your ideas!

What’s NOT working for you this week? Head on over to Shannon’s Place and join in!

Oh, and Just FYI, we have started potty training this week. Things are going well!

Big Girl Panties

Ever since this happened, and more recently this, we have been talking about potty training.  We’re armed and ready to start as soon as the head cold virus exits my house.  We have a potty chair downstairs in the basement (there’s no bathroom down there), a potty seat upstairs in the bathroom, tons of disposable training pants, vinyl panties, cute little “everyday” panties, and stickers.  Loads of stickers.

Lately though, I have been very interested in all of the licensed characters that adorn the teeny tiny little panties.  There is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Curious George, and Dora the Explorer (all which we ended up buying).  Of course Sesame Street makes underwear for little ones, but the tiny sizes of those are hard to come by.  I also wouldn’t let her even consider Hello Kitty or My Little Pony.  She already knows too many characters!  I was able to find a few packages of plain Gerber training pants and some Hanes for Girls that did not have characters on them. She was content with all of these that we got for her, but we had a problem.

When we first parked her in front of the display, she immediately spotted the Diego boys’ undies.  Without even  thinking, Dr. D and I steered her away from the primary colors of it’s package to the pastel pinks and purples of the girly Dora panties.   As we stood in the aisle contemplating which characters we would rather have adorning the butt cheeks of our two-year-old, we realized that we were possibly being very close-minded.  So we got the Diego BVDs too.  I think we have our bases covered.

So, are we going to scar her for life?
