The Love of My Life
Friday, December 21, 2007 at 2:00PM
Dr. D and I met in High School. He was a grade ahead of me, but we had two classes together. The summer of 1996 was when we really got to know each other. He went to a summer academic camp while I stayed at home--we racked up one heck of a phone bill but we became good friends over this short time.
Time passed, stuff happened and we became very close, so we started dating.
Dr. D graduated and went to college (in a different town) while I finished up my Senior Year. When I went to college, Dr. D transferred to the school I was attending. Fast forward a few years-- I graduated on December 14, and we were married a week later on December 21.
The wedding was a big ole' family affair. We had a Scottish wedding (Dr. D's Family can be traced back to Scotland) complete with Kilts, Bagpipes and all the usual fanfare.
We have been through so much since that cold day in 2001. Heck, we'd been through quite a bit before that! But still, I can't imagine trying to make my way in this world with anyone else.
So, all of our bags are packed and we're ready to go. I'm on my way to pick up Dr. D from the hospital and then we will head to the airport. We are looking forward to a spending a nice and relaxing anniversary on an airplane. With a toddler. Just one more thing that we get to experience--together.

Honey, I love you. Happy 6th Anniversary!
