    But it's Christmas....

Life with a two year-old is always interesting! Ever since Thanksgiving, we have been working hard to learn about Christmas Traditions. She didn't have a clue what was going on last year, though we made sure to involve her in as many ways as possible. This year we are reading lots of books, watching lots of movies, and singing lots of songs all in preparation for the big day.

It's still hard! She does not quite understand that Santa's name is Santa. She keeps calling him "Christmas". To make things worse this year, we are living in such cramped quarters that we have opted not to put up a Christmas tree. Even worse is the fact that all of our small decorations are in storage--in Arkansas.

Today, however, we have had a breakthrough! After reading all the Christmas books we own, watching Rudolph, and talking at length about white beards, trees and sugar cookies, I caught a glimpse into her mind that makes me think that she understands.
    Her: Mama, I need Juice.

Me: You just had a cup of milk, sweetie.

    Her: But it's Twismas, Mama!

She also keeps trying to hook up both dog leads to Shadow. Though she can't quite get it, she will settle for draping them across his back. She acts like they are reigns and then says, "Mewy Twismas!"

Cute! Thanks for stopping by my site and thanks for noticing the missing cheese:) I sprinkle some on rifgt after the cheese mixture or lay cheese slices over the meat.
