The Road to Home

My husband is not here, and my daughter is asleep. I am alone with my own thoughts. There was a time in my life when I would have never enjoyed this, but I have come to cherish the moments when I can sit down and think. Tonight, I have come up with a few things that I feel the need to share. I have been thinking about “Friends” lately (no, not the tv show). Please do not feel that any of these comments are directed to you in any way, for they are my revelations. I truly feel that these things apply to me.

• Though they may number fewer than in the past, I have great friends. I have come to accept that quantity is not quality, as is true in many other parts of life.


• A good friend is worth hanging on to.


• You must do what you can to cherish them and envelope them in kindness.


• Listen to them and don’t feel the need to “one-up” them. Let them vent. They in turn will let you vent. They will recognize when you will need to vent also.


• Give and take is the only way that can make a true friendship function. If one person is doing all of the giving, the other person will grow weary.


• Work hard not to discourage them, for friends need all of the encouragement that they can get!

These things being said, I want to thank all of you that are so dear to me. I will not call you by name, for I do not want to compromise your secret identity (hehe), but you know who you are. I love you all dearly. Without you, I would not be the person that I am. You make me a better person, by allowing me to be me!
